• pita bread, vegetable oil for frying
• 500 g red lentils
• 1 tomato, 1 onion, 2 gloves of garlic, 50 g celery, 1 potato, 2 carrots
• olive oil
• cumin, coriander powder, turmeric, salt, white pepper
• chicken stock
• Lemon
Cut in pieces the pita bread. In a pan put the vegetable oil and fry the pita bread. Once brown and golden remove.
In a bowl put the lentils and 2 cup of water, set aside.
Cut the onions, tomato, garlic, celery, potato and carrots.
In a pot, put olive oil, onion and garlic then add celery, potato and carrots. Stir, then put the lentils.
Add all the spices and the tomato, stir and let cook for 5 min in low heat.
Poor 4 cup of water and let cook for 20 min in medium heat.
With the help of a hand blender mix and serve with the fried pita breads and lemon.
