For the Mughrabiyeh Mixture:
• 1 kg Mughrabiyeh, ready made
• 2 Cups Small Onions, cut in half
• 1 Cup Chick Peas
• 2 tbs Butter
• 1 tbs Oil
• 2 tbs Salt
• 1 tbs Karawiya
• 1 tbs Cinnamon
• 1 tbs Black Pepper
For the Chicken Sauce Mixture:
• 1 kg Chicken cut into pieces (with bones or boneless as desired)
• 1 Can Chick Peas
• Warm water
• 1 kg Small Onions, peeled
• 1 tbs Butter
• 1 tbs Oil
• 3 tbs Karawya
• 1 tbs Black Pepper
• 1 tbs Salt
• 1 tbs Cinnamon
• 2 tbs Sweet Pepper
• In a large pan, heat the oil and butter, add the onions and fry until they change color the the Mughrabiyeh and the chick peas. Mix well and season with karawiya, cinnamon,salt and black pepper. Mix until all the ingredients are well combined and heat for 10 minutes then set aside.
• In a large sauce pan, heat oil and butter, add the onions and cook until they are golden brown,add the chicken and keep cooking till the chicken change color. Add the chick peas to the pan and season the mixture with salt, black pepper, cinnamon and sweet pepper. Cook for a minute and then cover the mixture with warm water and cook for 10 15 minutes or until the sauce is a bit thickened.
• Place the Mugrabiyeh mixture into the serving plate then pour the chicken sauce mixture over it. Serve warm
