• 1 1/2 kg fish fillet
• 1/2 cup of tamarind juice
• 2 tablespoons tomato paste
• 5 mashed garlic cloves
• 5 chopped onions
• 2 cups of American rice
• 1 cup Egyptian rice
• 6 cups water
• 1/2 tablespoon cardamom
• 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
• 1/2 tablespoon cumin
• 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
• 1/2 tablespoon salt
• 3/4 cup butter
• 1/2 cup fried pine nuts
• Fry the onion in butter until it withers, then add garlic, spices, salt, tamarind,cardamom
and tomato paste.
• Cook all together for 5 minutes .
• Add the fish fillet to this sauce and cook until half cooked. Remove the fish from the sauce and leave aside.
• Add water to the sauce, wash the rice and add to the mixture.
• When the rice is half cooked, add fish pieces and continue cooking until the fish and rice are well cooked.
• Pour the rice and fish into a dish, decorate with pine nuts, and serve
